Our journey began with Oscar G. Armijo, the visionary principal and founder, whose remarkable path unfolded amidst the vast agriculture fields of this vibrant region.
As a young seventeen-year-old immigrant from Mexico, Oscar started his American odyssey as a diligent farm laborer. His unwavering determination and unwavering spirit propelled him forward, leading him to embrace his true calling as a Certified Public Accountant (CPA). This transformative transition sparked within him a profound desire to leverage his professional career as a means to empower underserved and disadvantaged communities.
Guided by this newfound purpose, Oscar built his practice by catering to Spanish-speaking clients who were often overlooked by others. His unwavering commitment extended beyond the boundaries of profit, as he actively collaborated with nonprofits dedicated to serving California's most vulnerable populations. His dedication, fueled by humility, diligence, and integrity, left an indelible mark on his firm and continues to define the core values of Armijo and Associates.
Oscar G. Armijo, CPA firm is a family run business that includes our notable office management and accounting staff. The firm has grown in impact with the partnership of his wife Luisa M Armijo who oversees the community engagement programs and scholarship leadership fund. Together with his sons Oscar R. Armijo and Chimayo Armijo, CPA , they lead the firm's professional services in tax, audit and business consultation. Both Oscar R. and Chimayo Armijo, CPA graduated from the University of California, Berkeley holding degrees in Economics and Business. They have joined their father in servicing the Coachella Valley, throughout California and the Southwest offering both individual and family, businesses and corporation entities the firm's deep rooted values of quality service and excellence which began in 1996.

Oscar R. Armijo

Oscar Jr. has 15 years of public accounting experience, specializing in audit and tax services for nonprofit organizations. He currently manages the firm’s tax and advisory practice, where he focuses on business and tax-exempt entities. Always a world traveler, Oscar Jr. worked in Bolivia for various U.S. nongovernmental organizations before co-founding Adelante Bolivia, a nonprofit organization where he continues to serve as a Board member. Oscar received his B.A in Economics from University of California, Berkeley and an Associate of Arts in Accounting from Berkeley Community College.

Chimayo Armijo, CPA

Chimayo is a certified public accountant with over 10 years of public accounting and audit experience, specializing in health care and not-for-profit industries. He manages the firm’s assurance practice and is a leader in the firm’s tax practice. Before joining the firm in 2019, he was a senior audit associate for KPMG, LLP in San Francisco where he audited some of the largest and most important health care providers in California and the U.S. Chimayo graduated from the University of California, Berkeley where he co-founded the Delta Tau Chapter of Phi Gamma Nu co-ed business fraternity and received his B.S. in Business Administration at the Haas School of Business.

Prior to joining the firm in 2006, LeAnn attended the University of California, Santa Barbara returning back to College of the Desert to further pursue an accounting career while working as a service manager for Wells Fargo Bank. For the past 17 years LeAnn has been with the firm and very instrumental to its operation and expanding growth. As a result of her established work ethic and commitment to professional development, her role as office manager has expanded over the years as she oversees the year-round busy schedule and all the deadlines. In addition, she prepares financial statements, provides payroll and sales tax services and assists clients with workers compensation. She works with the general liability audits and plays a central role with the Firm’s client relationship managemental.
